Bailey Cichon of Greenwood Named to Dean’s List

Bailey Cichon of Greenwood, WI was among the more than 7,400 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the dean's list for the 2020 fall semester. 

Cichon is a student in the Iowa's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Guidelines for inclusion on the list are:

Courses offered on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory (S/U) or pass/non-pass (P/N) basis do not count toward graded credit for inclusion on the dean's list.

Undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Engineering, the Tippie College of Business, and University College who achieve a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on nine semester hours (spring 2020) or more of UI graded coursework during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of "I" (incomplete) or "O" (no grade reported) during the same semester are recognized by inclusion on the dean's list for that semester.

Undergraduate students in the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine with fewer than nine semester hours (spring 2020) of graded credit, if deemed appropriate by the college.

College of Nursing students participating in clinical courses who have a total of nine semester hours of earned credit (spring 2020), with eight semester hours of graded credit with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Vincent Rinaldo to Compete for UW-Whitewater

Victor Rinaldi, a native of Medford, WI, and graduate of Medford High School, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team during the 2021 season, which begins this weekend.

Rinaldi, a junior at UW-Whitewater, is majoring in general business.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's track and field teams begin an unprecedented season this Saturday at Kachel Fieldhouse with a dual meet against UW-Platteville, the program's first of four dual meets this season and six competition dates.

The Warhawks will host five meets during the indoor season over the next five weeks. All home duals will be streamed online using StretchCast, YouTube and Facebook Live. Links will be available each week on the men's and women's track and field schedule pages.

Attendance at meets will be limited to participating coaches, student-athletes and meet personnel. Spectators will not be permitted to enter the building.

Both teams last competed in March 2020 during the indoor season. The men placed fourth and the women finished fifth at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships before the remainder of the season was canceled two weeks later.

Area Residents Makes President’s List

The following local residents were named to the Western Technical College President's List of High Distinction for the Fall 2020 term. To be included on the President's List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and carry 6 or more credits in an associate's degree or technical diploma program.
