Teenage Drama

This Sunday my mom and I went to the Owen-Withee Theater Department’s one act play entitled, “I Don’t Want to Talk About It.”  The kids did a wonderful job! There were no visible flubs or trips or red faces during the whole performance. The students were very well polished and sincere as they acted out this poignant play. The play tackled the sometimes sad, confusing and angry teen age years and what today’s kids must face. I guess the main teenage struggles have survived the test of time such as heart aches caused by bullying, boyfriends, girlfriends, rocky family lives, disabilities in various forms and lack of communication to name just a few. Teenagers of the 2020s have more techno savvy problems. It was very obvious why this talented bunch have advanced to the state competition. Well, done O-W Theater Department, good luck at state!

Murder to Come

This January, more drama will be coming to the Owen-Withee area, well, besides the usual coffee shop gossip. The Owen DRC along with other sponsors are hosting a dinner theater on January 13, 14 and 15, 2022. The Murder 4 Fun traveling company has been commissioned to perform at the Old School Gym. This fun group will create a personalized Murder 4 Fun play which may include someone from our own tiny town biting the dust. A delicious meal will be served along with the who done it type play. The DRC already has some very generous sponsors who have stepped up to bring this unique theatrical experience to good old O-W. Tickets will be on sale soon. What a terrific way to heat up the cold dark days of January.

Thank You Veterans!

I would just like to personally say thank you to all who volunteer to keep our country safe through our armed forces. So many have given their lives to ensure we have the right to vote, speak our minds, the right health and happiness and the right to choose our own paths in life. For these things and so much more, I am grateful and salute our American Veterans. God Bless you all!
