The Owen-Withee Elementary held their Kindergarten and Pre-School Child Alert registration and screening last Thursday, March 4, 2021. The early childhood and kindergarten team were masked up and ready to welcome new youngsters to the Owen-Withee School District. The screening was held in the elementary gymnasium which was set up for free play. Principal Julie VanArk who was one of the first friendly faces to greet parents and children commented all was going well even with all the changes.

The Child Alert afterschool screening brought to a close Read Across America week in the elementary school. The last day of the week was celebrated with a surprise visit from the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 and OWEL’s very own Jack in the Hat. The cheerful group brought the students Hop on Popcorn and juice boxes.
