The JV Hawks hosted the Columbus Dons and lost 36-29.  The Hawks' trapping defense got them off to a 15-6 lead 10 minutes in while getting 11 steals in the first half.  Then the Blackhawks' shooting cooled down as they struggled to finish shots.  The Hawks led 18-16 at the half with only 7 turn-overs as Ryan Nelson had 7 pts.

Our defense in the second half continued to cause problems for Columbus as we had 9 more steals but couldn't knock the shot down.  The Blackhawks shot 14% in the second half 5 for 27 and the free throw line shooting struggled as well, 3 of 14.  Through it all the guys played hard and tried to pull out a win as our defense kept giving us chances.  Down 32-29 with 20 secconds left, the Hawks missed a couple opportunities and just didn't get it done.  Mason Gay led the team with 3 assists and Vincent Henke had 9 steals.
