The Owen-Withee School Board met in special session on Monday, August 17, at the high school media center. Items of special interest were two new faculty/staff contracts and resolutions regarding the November referendum.

The Board approved the hiring of Justine Sova to teach 4th Grade, replacing the resigned Heidi Lenz. Tammy Stinson was approved to replace Lori Grimes as Elementary Aide.

The Board took up the issue of the resolutions concerning the November referendum. First was the Initial Resolution Authorizing General Obligation Bonds in an Amount Not to Exceed $3,150,000. This is toward paying the cost of the school building and renovation and the acquisition of fixtures for the new cafeteria/Community Use Multi-purpose and Ag/Tech Ed facility construction. A Charlie Milliren/Paul Heggemeier motion was unanimously approved.

Following that was the Resolution Providing for Referendum Election on the Question of the Approval of an Initial Resolution Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds in an Amount Not to Exceed $3,150,000. The Milliren/Heggemeier motion was unanimously approved. The resolution sets the referendum election date as synchronous with the General November Election—November 3, 2020.
