OWEN-WITHEE – The Owen-Withee Theatre Department will present the “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” by Don Zolidis, April 8-9 at7:30 p.m., and April 10 at 2 p.m.
“The troupe, guided by our two intrepid narrators (Aidan Smith and Rylee Ollinger), will stage such stories as Snow White (or is it Sleeping Beauty?) Little Red, Faithful Johannes, the Fisher girl, and of course, Straw Coal and Bean – (only the best fairy tale in the entire historyof the world, although we have no idea what it is about) among several other famous Grimm tales,” stated an Owen-Withee Theatre Department release.
“Each member of the ensemble will play several characters,among them three witches, (no wait, one’s an enchantress), at least that many three princes and princesses, (or are some of them kings or queens?), as well as several dwarves, a myriad of rejects from Disney, a frog, a crow and a horse named Plinkie Plie. And of course, no crab people. If you are a bit confused,don’t worry. They will recap the entire story for you at the end. In record time.”
The ensemble consists of: Lana Hubbard, Alyssa Graski, Ashley Gay, Ben Heggemeier, Daisy Stock, Damian Nernberger, Betty Groelamcy,Jack Wendler, Lydia Van Ark, Reina Arndt, Sully Poehler, Winston Poehler and Tawny Ruppert. Crew members, under stagemanager Gabby Goessl include Angela Baures, Emmy Ruppert, Kaylee Wagner, SierraBakke, Zainab Abbasi, and Samantha Stephens.
The show is directed by Jeffer Scheuer.
Audience members will be able to help support the Owen-Withee Theatre Department with a purchase of Fan-o-Grams, and raffletickets for prizes.
“The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. and is not suitable for very young children,”the release added.
