Owen Withee vs Athens

The Owen-Withee varsity girls played host to the Athens Bluejays on Tuesday Nov. 16th.  The team fought hard for 36 minutes but fell short 51-20 to a very good Athens team. The team was lead by sophmore Reina Arndt with 8pts, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Makayla Gorka added 6pts and 6 rebounds.

Coach’s comments: I thought our defense was the most impressive part of the game. Holding a good Athens team to 51pts.

Owen Withee at Granton

The Owen-Withee varsity girls had a great conference season opener at Granton on Friday, Nov 19th.  They had a slow start, with a leading score of 12-8 at the half.

We really came together in the second half and defeated Granton with a final score of 42-20.

As a team, we are starting to realize what our potential can be.  I am excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us and I have no doubt in my mind that we will continue to improve as a team and strive for success.

The team was led by freshman Kendall Weiler with 11pts, 9 rebounds and 4 steals.  Grayce Bottlemy added 6pts, Reina Arndt and Makayla Gorka added 5pts.
