OWEN -- On Feb. 8, the Owen Personnel Committee accepted the resignation of Tim Swiggum as the Community Development Coordinator. It was announced after the closed session meeting that Swiggum will immediately go to to 32 hours per week, drop to 20 hours in June, and finish his position in September 2022.

As part of the CDC position, Swiggum has been instrumental seeking out and facilitating construction grants in Owen and his September resignation aligns with finishing one significant project.

“I have been thinking resigning since this past fall. The end of this coming September is the closing of the project period for TIF No.4, and it is a good time to step down. I am proud of the growth that has occurred and although it is now all how we planned, it is the growth that Owen needed. I plan to continue being active with Owen-Withee Area Chamber ofCommerce and the Downtown Revitalization Committee to help keep our community growing.” Swiggum explained.
